NOTICE: Effective August 1, 2018 - Personal use rentals with National/Enterprise for eligible U-M users will no longer include damage waiver coverage or third party liability coverage for rentals in the USA.
This is a strategic contract for car rentals, via the CICPC - BIG 10 Purchasing consortium to National Car Rental and Enterprise Rent-A-Car for business and personal use. See the ORDERING INFORMATION tab for eligibility details. This company is also a supporter of sustainability initiatives, consistent with the university's values.
Rentals are paid via PCard (Business use) and credit card (Non-Business use) by reserving online with National or Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
The university PROHIBITS the rental, lease, or operation of 15 passenger vans.

Insurance: Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and Liability coverage is included in the University rate program for rentals originating in the United States for business use only. For personal use rentals and any rental originating in Canada, the LDW is NOT included. For any rental originating outside the US, contact National/Enterprise after making the reservation so they can confirm coverages.
Taxes: Michigan Sales Tax will be waived, but renter is responsible for any county fees, city and airport surcharges, fuel, out-of-state and rental taxes. Contract rates do not include fuel, upgrades or optional charges.
Booking for University Visitors: When reserving vehicles for university visitors, the reservation should be in the visitors' name, the visitor must pay for the rental with their own credit card and submit receipts to the department for reimbursement.
