The university has a contract with Southwest Airlines for business travel. Negotiated discounts of 2-10% are only available when booking airfare reservations through the university’s designated travel agency, CTP, using the online U-M Travel Booking Tool or via agent assistance.

Additional Information
In addition to negotiated discounts on applicable fare classes, Southwest Airlines offers the university additional perks.
U-M Contracted Perks:
- Rapids Rewards members can earn 50% more points for flights booked through U-M’s travel partner, CTP, through June 30, 2024. Your Rapids Rewards number must be in your CTP profile and the flight must be booked through CTP to receive the bonus miles.
For All Travelers:
- No baggage fees for the first two checked bags. Fees apply if a bag exceeds 50 pounds or 62 inches (L+W+H).
- In the event a trip is canceled, Southwest Airlines does not charge cancellation or change fees.
- Unused tickets do not expire.
- The Rapid Rewards program offers unlimited rewards seats, no blackout dates, no seat restrictions, and your points never expire!
