New signs have been installed in key pedestrian areas across Ann Arbor’s Central, North, and South campuses. The signs identify prohibited activities, including nonemergency vehicle traffic, and reinforce U-M’s commitment to maintaining a safe environment for pedestrians.
Units are encouraged to remind vendors, contractors, and delivery contacts to:
- Use designated roadways and approved parking locations.
- Refrain from driving, parking, or staging vehicles on sidewalks or in pedestrian-only areas unless actively supporting an approved project or emergency response and specifically authorized to enter the area.
- Plan deliveries and other work to avoid vehicle access in pedestrian areas.
Because units often work directly with those coordinating services and deliveries, sharing these expectations before they arrive on campus is one of the most effective ways to support compliance.
