Use CTP to book airfare on behalf of university guests

Aug 13, 2025 | News

University guests—including students traveling for academic purposes—may book their own airfare and seek reimbursement through the Travel and Business Hosting Expense Report (TBHER).

Alternatively, if a U-M employee books airfare on behalf of a university guest, they must use Collegiate Travel Planners (CTP). U-M employees can book guest travel through CTP in one of two ways:

Option 1: Online Booking (Lightning)

  1. Access Lightning via Wolverine Access
  2. Select “Add guest traveler” link on the New Booking page
  3. Enter required guest information
    • Full legal name (as on government ID)
    • Date of birth
    • Gender
    • Mobile phone number
    • Email address

4. Enter any optional information

    • Airline loyalty numbers
    • Known Traveler/Redress Numbers
    • Passport/Visa information

Option 2: Agent Assistance

  1. Call: 877-804-3688 (Option 2) or 402-252-4404 for international calls
  2. Email: [email protected]
  3. Submit eForm: Individual Travel Request Form
  4. Provide guest details and travel requirements to the CTP agent

For questions about guest travel booking procedures or for assistance with either booking option, contact CTP directly, or reach out to the Travel Program Team at [email protected].
