Suppliers that provide healthcare services

Suppliers doing business with university schools, colleges, or other units that provide healthcare services are required to comply with federal and state laws designed to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse, related university policies, and must  promptly notify appropriate university officials via the U-M Compliance Hotline about any compliance-related concerns.

Detailed information about federal and state false-claims laws and university policies can be found on the Michigan Medicine Supplier Information web page.  Suppliers should read about the policies they are expected to comply with, including conflict of interest disclosure and management, patient privacy, supplier/staff interactions, and appropriate conduct. Questions about the university's healthcare compliance policies should be directed to the Michigan Medicine Chief Compliance Officer at (734) 615-4400 or by mail at 300 North Ingalls, Room 4C27, SPC 5749, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.

Michigan Medicine Supplier Registration Program

The Michigan Medicine Supplier Program is designed to streamline the collection and management of key information regarding the regulatory and compliance status, as well as business operations of, our suppliers. Through the program, registered suppliers provide the information we need to continually:

  • communicate our unique and most current business policies with our suppliers;
  • ensure we have the most accurate picture of each vendor’s business, capabilities, and contact information;
  • screen suppliers and representatives against state and federal sanction lists; and
  • manage access to our facilities and patient care areas based on immunization, training, and compliance status.

All suppliers accessing and doing business with the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers (UMHHC) must register with the UMHHC Supplier Credentialing System prior to visiting or transacting with any UMHHC facility. THIS REQUIREMENT APPLIES EVEN IF YOUR REPRESENTATIVES DO NOT PLAN TO VISIT THE FACILITY. When your representatives visit any University of Michigan Hospital or Health Center location, they are required to register at the designated check-in area.

Register your business with Michigan Medicine on their website.
