MConnect has been relaunched!

MConnect, U-M’s portal to help units locate diverse, sustainable, and small business suppliers from which to purchase goods and services, has been updated and relaunched on the Procurement Services website! The portal can now accommodate an increased number of diverse and sustainable supplier classifications and offers a new, easy-to-use design with enhanced functionality.

“Based on feedback from across U-M, we’ve determined there has been an increased desire from units to have access to more diverse, sustainable, and small businesses when making purchases,” said Ashley Ouendag, strategic sourcing manager in Procurement Services. “And one of our primary goals is to make it as easy as possible for units to locate—and use—these types of suppliers.”

To view the growing list of suppliers on MConnect, https://procurement.umich.edu/u-m-mconnect-search/. Please note that goods and services can be purchased from any supplier in the MConnect database, but U-M purchasing requirements must be followed (e.g., any transaction of $10,000 or more must be competitively bid and managed by Procurement Services to ensure that prices are fair and reasonable).

“We recommend that any units looking for diverse, sustainable, and/or new U-M suppliers use MConnect to locate suppliers that meet their needs. And more suppliers are registering with MConnect on a regular basis so the list is growing,” Ashley said.
