Procurement Services recently launched Buying Blue, a UM-wide initiative to promote best practices, create efficiencies, and maximize resources across the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Flint, and Michigan Medicine campuses. As part of the initiative, the group held its first Community of Practice (CoP) event virtually in early April. The inaugural event was well-received with nearly 600 attendees joining the hour-long webinar.
During the initial CoP event/webinar, the U-M community was able to meet a number of leaders, including Brian Smith, associate vice president for finance, Pam Gabel, assistant vice president–Shared Services Center, and Tally Thrasher, U-M’s recently appointed chief procurement officer, learn more about major procurement initiatives, and submit topics for upcoming CoP events.
U-M employees who have a role in purchasing goods and services, such as PCard holders, M-Marketsite users, and/or M-Pathways ePro Requisition users were invited to register for the event and share the information with colleagues. Thank you to everyone who attended the event and submitted a question in advance. Your support went a long way in helping make the event a success.
