ITS Tech Repair

Provided by Information and Technology Services (ITS), Tech Repair provides low-cost maintenance and hardware repair services to University of Michigan individuals and units.

Maintenance services include virus remediation and software troubleshooting, software and operating system installations, hardware upgrades and installations (RAM, hard drives, network cards and more), data transfers, and data recovery.

Hardware repair and support is available for both personally owned and university owned computers, printers and computer equipment. Warranty repairs for Apple (including iPad and iPhone), Dell, HP, Microsoft Surface, and devices covered by Safeware can usually be done at no cost. Out-of-warranty repairs on these and other major brands are also possible.

All U-M owned property is insured by the university. Tech Repair partners with Risk Management to simplify repair or replacement of accidentally damaged devices covered by this self-insurance program. Tech Repair submits the claim on your behalf and receives reimbursement directly from Risk Management. No need for your unit to file a claim, pay for repair, or wait for reimbursement.
